Wedding Celebration Ceremonies are the easiest way to have a wedding ceremony in Portugal. You can have the legal marriage in your home country or country of residence and come to Portugal to have a wedding celebration ceremony.
Wedding celebration ceremonies can be held outdoors or indoors. There are no special requirements or restrictions for wedding celebration ceremonies. A celebrant will hold the ceremony.
You may choose a wedding celebration ceremony for personal beliefs and not get legally married at all. You may also choose this option for your wedding celebration after getting married legally in your home country. The wedding ceremony gives you the option to celebrate your wedding to your likes.
You can integrate anything you wish, such as a handwritten wedding certificate that will be signed at the end of the ceremony. You can decide on what will be said during the service, have it conducted in your own language instead of using a translator or have a bilingual ceremony done by one person, who speaks both languages.
If you have the civil ceremony beforehand it can be explained to the registrar that you will be having a wedding celebration ceremony and that you would like a minimalistic service for the legal section. All that is required to be spoken in a legal ceremony is the registrar asking ‘Are you ______________(Full Name) free lawfully to marry ____________(Full Name)?’ You respond with ‘I am’ You will then be asked to each repeat the following after the registrar. ‘I _______________(Full Name) take you ___________(Full Name) to be my wedded wife / husband’. Sign the register and you are legally married.
Celebrants: Our celebrants are experienced in performing and presenting in front of groups. They are sophisticated and educated people how generally speak at least two languages. You may wish a native English speaker or someone who is fluent in both English and Portuguese. We also can arrange celebrants for French and German ceremonies.
The ceremony: Most ceremonies are structured similar to a religious wedding, including aspects such as the giving away of the bride by the father, presence of bridesmaids and groom’s bestman, exchanging of rings etc. You can create the ceremony to your likes and include special rituals (i.e. lighting of a union candle, etc) if you wish. Your wedding planner will send you suggestions for the ceremony wording and plan each step with you.
